This article aims to investigate the contribution of sensory gardens and the role of recycling in helping to make teaching and learning effective for students. In addition to understanding the relationship between recycling and the practice of sensory gardens, it also discusses sustainable thinking from the perspective of environmental education and discusses the Benefits of Sensory Gardens in Schools. The research was conducted through a bibliographic review, classifying it as qualitative research, aiming to support the reading and interpretation of sets of articles and book chapters that address the research theme. Environmental Education is strongly pointed out as the main agent that drives awareness and encourages the problems that plague the environment. Sensory Gardens, together with Recycling, can create and improve critical thinking, becoming a space for inclusion with interdisciplinary activities, influencing and involving students within the interdisciplinarity of school subjects. Making them influential in defending the environment so that they become ecologically balanced and healthy.
